Landcape Species Theories and Approach

Abstract：The new idea of landscape species provides a way to think about conservation of both wildlife and ecological environment. The landscape species approach draws from the emerging discipline of conservation biology and landscape ecology. This paper intends to introduce the concept of landscape species itself, presenting a set of core theories and approaches of landscape species, which includes umbrella, keystone, indicator, landscape species, ecologically functional population, site selection, species selection, species requirement in time and space, threats in time and space.
