The argyrophil cells of reptilian digestive tract-a mini-review

Abstract: The argyrophil cells of digestive tract have been studied in many reptiles. The types and distribution patterns of these cells were proved to be not only different from mammals, but also with intra-species difference. In this paper, the morphological characteristics of these cells and their distribution patterns were summarized and discussed with the relationship of classification status, feeding habits and habitat environment.
