GIS Application on Population Dynamics and Habitat Monitoring of Giant Panda in Wolong, Sichuan

Abstract:The paper reports the application of geography information system (GIS) on population dynamics and habitat monitoring of giant panda in Wolong Nature Reserve. The methods include the wild sampling, GPS orientation, data collection, coordination, basic theme digit, data statistic, satellite picture interpreting and execution of monitoring and habitat special map. Meanwhile, the problems on improving the precision of satellite picture are proposed by the authors.
