Abstract:Three reproductive parameters of the captive Chinese monal Lophophorus lhuysii were analyzed at Fengtongzhai National Nature Reserve (named Baoxing population) from 1993 to 2011. Eggs produced by each female was 3.62 (n=19) and the egg-laying period was 41.63 days (n=19) . The egg fertility rate of Baoxing population was 14.13% (n=19). There was no significant difference between Baoxing and Beijing populations in eggs produced by each female and the egg-laying period (P>0.05), however the egg fertility of Baoxing population is lower than Beijing population (P<0.05).
