Application of DNA sequences and RAPD Techniques in Molecular Systematics of Grasshoppers

Abstract:At present, the taxonomic systems of grasshopper are fouded based on morphologic characters. They were disputed for their subjectivities were stronger and experts had different viewpoints. There are abundant informations in DNA sequences, and the history of organism evolution was recorded by DNA sequences. The enough molecular evidence for establishing perfect taxonomic systems of grasshopper could be provided by biological informations of DNA sequences. The recent progress of molecular phylogeny of grasshopper based on RAPD and DNA sequences are reviewed and their problems are also summarized in this paper.
