The Survey of Bird Diversity in Different Habitat at Mamize Nature Reserve in

Abstract:The survey on the bird species and numbers conducted with the method of the point count during April to May 2006 at the Mamize Nature Reserve of Sichuan province . During the two months survey,1948 individuals of birds were recorded , belonging to 105 species , 23 families and 7orders. There are 6 species of birds protected nationally, and 7 national endemic species at this Nature Reserve . The analysis about the bird fauna suggest that the East-Asian Group species is dominant . There are four bird communities distinguished according to the habitat . The analysis about the bird diversity of the different habitat suggest that 1)The highest similarity of the bird community is the replanted forest and the shrub meadow , and the lowest is the shrub meadow and the primary forest . 2)The highest bird diversity is the secondary forest , and the lowest is the shrub meadow . 3The primary forest has the most species of birds protected nationally , and the national endemic species is fewer than the secondary forest . 4) The highest density of the birds in four bird community is the understorey.
