Abstract:Feeding selection of the red bellied tree squirrel (Callosciurus erythraeus) in different seasons was investigated in Longjiang riverside, Guangxi from September 2008 to August 2010. The result showed that: Ficus microcarpa accounted for about 36.8% of total feeding, there were significant differences between picking species (P<0.05) and no significant differences among feeding type in season (P>0.05). Feeding preferences, food niche breadth and overlap results indicated that: the wide niche breadth was 4.1545 in summer, the narrow niche breadth was 3.5001 in autumn; the maximum niche overlap was 0.9882 in summer and autumn, the minimum niche overlap was 0.9343 in summer and winter.
