Abstract:As a rare species of regional pig breed resources, the Xizang pig is a unique species of state protected pig breeds in China which adapted to the plateau habitat. By means of cytogenetics technology, the Xizang pig was the test group, while Landrace was the control group. The ordinary karyotype, the G-band and the C-band of both breeds were explored in this study, and the unique band patterns of the Xizang pig have been discovered, which could provide some cytogenetic evidence for germplasm resource investigation of the Xizang pig.
