Preliminary Study on Lanius schach Vocalizations in the Breeding Season in Nanchong, Sichuan

Abstract：Basic characteristic calls of Lanius schach during the breeding season were recorded and studied from March to August 2008 in Nanchong, Sichuan Province. During the study, 430 calls were been recorded. According to the analysis of oscillogram, broad band spectrogram and its behavior, the results showed that there were six calls which including territory call,expulsion call, courtship call, feeding call of the yong bird, exclaiming call, and responsive call. The behaviors of the birds with each type of vocalizations are also analyzed in this paper.
