Research on Fauna and Diversity of Odonata in Different Seasons in Laoshan Area, Nanjing

Abstract:
Based on the investigation of dragonflies in Laoshan area of Nanjing City from 2005 to 2007, the primary results showed that there were 30 species, belonging to 21 genera, 6 families and 2 suborders, with 7 species recorded in Jiangsu Province for the first time. As to the unique composition of dragonflies in Laoshan area, there exist 8 species, which account for 26.67% in Oriental realm; 2 species (6.67%) arePalaearctic; 11 species (36.67%) are Oriental-Palaeaarctic; 9 species (30.00%) are cosmopolitan. According to a constant research of Odonata in different seasons, the species diversity decreased in seasons of autumn, spring, summer, the numbers of Odonata are summer >spring >autumn.
