The Parasitic Monogenea of Fishes from Sichuan Province. ⅳ. Two New Species of Dactylogyrus Duesing, 1850

Abstract:

Two new species of Dactylogyrus are reported from fishes of Sichuan Province in the present paper. Measurements are in millimeters. Type specimens are deposited in the Department of Biology, Chongqing Normal College.

1. Dactylogyrus umbelliformis, sp. nov. (fig. 1)

Host: Tor brevifilis (Peters).

Location: Gill.

Locality: Qujiang river (Quxian County)

Minute worm, 0.328-0.491 in length and 0.069-0.096 in width. Opisthohaptor with two connective plates. Marginal hooklets 0.019-0.026, the 3rd longest. Central hooks: total length, 0.034-0.049, basal portion 0.034-0.040, out root 0.003-0.004, inner root 0.012-0.013 point 0.013. Ventral connective plates ‘—‘ shapped, 0.003-0.006 by 0.030-0.034, dorsal connective plates umbrella-shaped, 0.020-0.024 by 0.026-0.030.

Copulating tube fine and long, basal expand, 0.023-0.036 in length. Supporting apparatus pieces. Vigina and eggs not discovered. Discription based on 4 specimens.

This new worm resembles to Dactylogyrus triaxonis Achmerov, 1952, but differs from the latter and other known species of the genus by the fine and longer copulating tube and pece-shaped copulatory apparatus.

2. Dactylongyrus qujiangensis, sp. nov. (fig. 2)

Host: Procypris rabaudi (Tchang)

Location: Gill.

Locality: Qujiang River (Quxian County).

Middle worm, 0.434-0.435 in length and 0.074-0.082 in width. Opisthohapter with only one connective plates. Marginal hooklets 0.028-0.032 in length. Central large hooks: total length 0.040-0.044, basal portion 0.030-0.032, out root 0.003-0.004, inner root 0.014-0.016, point 0.012-0.014. Connective plates straight, 0.005-0.006 by 0.027-0.028.

Copulating tube long tube-shaped, and basal expand, 0.044-0.048 in length. Piece-like copulatory apparatus with two edges on the terminal end.Description based on 6 specimens.

This new worm is similar to Dactyloghrus montschaskyi Gussev, 1955, but differs from the latter by long tube-shaped copulatory tube and copulatory apparatus on terminal ends two edges.
