Abstract:

The genus Sinoennea Kobelt belongs to the family Streptaxidae. Its distribution range was limited in East Asia and South Asia. The current paper reported a new species of genus Sinoennea Kobelt fromChina: Sinoennea manyunensis sp. nov. The samples were collected from Manyun town, Lushui county, (25°09'N98°08'E), Yunnan province, China in 2011. The type specimens were deposited in the Department of Cell Biology and Genetics, Kunming Medical University.

Sinoennea manyunensis sp. nov. (Plate. 1~4)

Holotype : alt.6.20 mm, diam.3.30 mm; alt of aperture2.00 mm, diam. of aperture1.00 mm; collected from Manyun town, Lushui county, (25°09'N98°08'E), Yunnan province, China, Aug 6th 2011.

Paratypes: 5 adult shells specimens, alt. 6.16~6.25 mmdiam. 2.43~3.15~3.35 mm; alt of aperture 1.90~2.10 mm, diam. of aperture. 0.94~1.15 mm, collected from Manyun town, Lushui county (25°09'N98°08'E), Yunnan province, China, Aug 6th 2011.

Etymology: The name of the new species is based on the place (Manyun town, Lushui founty) that the specimens were collected.

Shell small, thick, solid, smooth, lustrous, cylindrical. Whorls 7 1/2, moderately convex with high spiral part. Shells light yellow or yellow-brownish in colour, and with some curve vertically 68 rib-strias, but the embryonic and second without rib-stria, smooth. Apex blunt and short, with deep suture. Aperture small, ear-shaped. The peristome is thick, expanded and reflexed, on aperture dorsal lateral with neck, bell-shaped. The inner lip is close to the body whorl, with thick callus. The columellar lip slightly over umbilicus, and perfectly straight. There is a big flake-form angular lamellae at the upper right lip. There is a big nipple-flake-form teeth below. The umbilicus is narrow, slit like.

Habitat environment: It generally lives in the dark wet humus limestone mountainous and hilly regions, geomorphic environment of Karst, cliff with moss and lichen or among the stones.

The new species is remarkably similar to Sinoennea fuzhouensis Zhou, Chen and Guo, 2006, but differs from the latter by the shells with 7 1/2 whorls, (alt.5.17 mm, diam.2.57 mm;alt of aperture1.86 mm, diam. of aperture1.48 mm.) in the small size, with a big flake-form angular lamellae at inner lip, with two nipple-flake-form teeth in right lip. The upper one is bigger than the below one, axial margin does not cover the umbilicus which is wide and deep.
