Identification of O Serotype and PCR Detection of Resistance Genes of Lung Pathogenic Escherichia coli from Forest Musk Deer

Abstract:To investigate the prevalence of O serotypes and resistance genes among lung pathogenic Escherichia coli (LPEC) that isolated from forest musk deer, slide agglutination and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) were performed in this study. A total of 16 LPEC isolates were identified by O serotype identification. These isolates distributed in 9 serogroups and O78 was the dominant serotype with a positive rate of 43.75% (7/16). The results of PCR detection showed that 29 LPEC isolates were multidrug resistant. Mainly detected resistance genes were related to sulfanilamides (sul1sul2sul3), quinolones (aac (6’) –Ib and qnrB), lactamases (blaTEM and blaCTX-M), aminoglycosides (aac(3)-IIa and ant(3”))- Ia and tetracyclines (tet(B)). The average resistant rates were 100%, 96.55%, 96.55%, 100%, 86.21%, 100%, 65.52%, 100%, 96.55% and 58.62%, respectively. The results have an important guiding significance for clinical scientific and rational drug application
