Abstract:Herpetological surveys on eleven isles and one rock belonging to British Virgin Islands were carried out in October of 1991. Fifteen species of amphibians and reptiles were collected. They are: Eleutherodactylus antillensis and Leptodactylus albolabris (Leptodactylidae); Amphisbeana fenestrate (Amphisbeanidae); Hemidactylus mabouia, Sphaerodactylus macrolepis and Thecadactylus rapicauda (Gekkonidae); Anolis ernestwilliamsi, A. cristatellus, A. pulchellus, and A. stratulus (Colubridae); Geochelone (Chlonoidis) carbonaria (Testudinidae). Additional two species, Iguana iguana (Iguanidae) and Mabuya sloanei (Scincidae), were observed. The author would express his cordial thanks to Dr. James Lazell for his kindly inviting to attend those surveys and helping in identification of species.
