Abstract:The paper describes the morphology of gastric glands and mucosa surface of Alligator sinensis hatchlings. Scanning electron microscopic observation showed that there were 11 – 13 cardiac valves at the cardia. The epithelial pits were shallow and scarce in the cardiac and pyloric regions, but deep, dense and regular in the gastric body as gastric pits. Histological observation revealed that the cardiac and pyloric glands were all short single branched tubular glands with only one type of glandular cell, and the gland of gastric fundus was branched tubular gland with a few types of glandular cells. The characteristics on the morphology of gastric glands and mucosa surface of Alligator sinensis are also discussed in the paper.
