Studies on Reproductive Ecology of Tylototriton kweichowensis Fang and Chang

The Guizhou newt, Tylototriton kweichouwensis Fang and Chang, deposits once a year. The fattiness during reproductive period, coefficient of liver, coefficient of fat, coefficient of mature gonad, and volume of the latter have certain biological significance. In gereral, the breeding season begins from the first ten-days of May till early of July. One clutch contains 121.5±7.8 eggs. Hatching period takes 21.6 days. Rate of hatch is 44.33%. There is a positive interrelationship between the size of clutch and the snout-vent length of the female. The change of morphological features of the young distinctly different day by day.
