Molecular Cloning and Tissue Expression of Chicken Natriuretic Peptide Receptors B Gene

Abstract:As a selective receptor of C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP), natriuretic peptide receptor B (NPR-B) regulates various physiological processes, including pituitary hormone secretion, cardiovascular stability, development of nervous system, cell proliferation and bone growth. In this study, the full-length cDNA of chicken NPR-B gene was reported and its tissue expression in adult chickens was detected by qPCR and RNA-seq analyses. The results showed that chicken NPR-B gene has a full length of 3189 bp and encodes a receptor of 1062 amino acids, which shows high amino acid sequence identitiy with that of human (Homo sapiens,79%), rats (Rattus rattus, 78%), Xenopus laevis (73%) and zebrafish (Danio rerio, 67%). Quantitative real-time PCR were used to investigate the expression of NPR-B in chicken tissues. It was found that NPR-B is highly expressed in the heart, muscle, midbrain and pituitary. The results of this study laid the foundation for explaining the physiological functions of CNP and NPR-B in chickens.
