英文摘要:Bamboo is a main food for giant panda. In order to invesitgate the digestibility of bamboo of captive giant panda, and to explore the best method to measure the digestibility of wild giant panda, the total feces collection method (TFC) and acid insoluble ash method (AIA) were adopted to determine the digestibility of bamboo of six captive giant pandas in Shaanxi Rare Wildlife Rescuing and Breeding Research Center. The results showed that as measured by TFC, the digestibility of dry matter, crude protein, crude fat and crude fiber in giant panda were 19.8%, 61.48%, 49.89% and 12.43%, and the results of AIA method showed the digestibility of these foods were 21.9%, 63.17%, 51.96% and 13.59%, respectively. After comparison of the two methods, although the results measured by AIA were slightly higher than that by TFC, there were no significant differences between the two methods (P > 0.05). Considering the practical operability, AIA method is more suitable for the determination of the digestibility of wild giant pandas.
